My Free time:
I am passionate about underwater photography and SCUBA diving, with over 3,000 dives under my belt. I have been fortunate enough to dive into some of the world’s best dive sites.

I love exploring and learning about new places and have visited all 50 US states and over 100 countries. With my previous global role and a thirst for global exploration, I tend to get around. Before COVID, I averaged 250,000 to 300,000 flight miles per year with my international consulting projects, visiting 15 to 25 countries annually. This resulted in millions of air miles and hotel points I use for family vacations.
My Job:
I am the President of Bisan Digital, where I help clients grow their businesses internationally. I am also a co-creator of digital marketing training courses at International Webmastery.
Previously, I held dual roles as CEO of Global Strategies International and Director of Global Search Strategy at Ogilvy. As CEO, I was responsible for developing and executing GSI’s corporate strategy and global expansion while ensuring stellar results and client satisfaction for all clients. As the Global Search Strategist for Ogilvy, I was responsible for driving Ogilvy’s Search Marketing thought leadership and developing strategic roadmaps for global search marketing, integrated into Ogilvy’s 360 Integrated Communications programs.
My Super Powers
My two main superpowers are the ability to think about a problem from a multidimensional view and see patterns in data.
I speak:
I have keynoted and spoken at conferences in 32 countries. I am also the co-host of the International Webmastery Podcast, alongside my good friend Bill Scully, where we discuss ways for companies to enhance the overall performance of their websites.
I write:
I pontificate my rants and raves her on this blog. I am the co-author of the best-selling book Search Engine Marketing, Inc. Driving Traffic to Your Company’s Web Site from IBM Press, now in its third Edition. I have also written about global search marketing in Search Engine Land and Search Engine Watch.
My background
Before starting my consulting career, I was in the US Marine Corps for ten years.
Little Known Fact:
I was one of the presenters in a highly successful PSA video, “Earthquake Preparedness,” featuring our local weatherman at the time, Fritz Coleman. The video educated people on earthquake preparedness, and the proceeds went to the American Red Cross.
